Monday, September 19, 2022 - 5:01 PM by Matt Paddick

The Lions have stormed into the Preliminary Final, following a dominant 118-point win over South Fremantle at Revo Fitness Stadium on Sunday September 18.

The Lions got in front early and looked unstoppable in the contest, kicking the first 14 goals of the match.

Subiaco took the game on, and fired on all cylinders to match on in season 2022.

It was an impressive team performance, as the side took the 21.14 (140) to 3.4 (22) win.

Robert Hansen Jr had a day out up forward, kicking a bag of 5 goals, while Oscar Dees had an influence after returning for his first game since round three.

Riley Burton was impressive in the ruck with 25 hit outs, and Rory Murison found plenty of the football with 21 touches.

Subiaco got out of the blocks quickly, with Ryan Newick kicking truly to give the Lions the perfect start.

It was the start of a five-goal opening term, as the side dominated around the ground.

Luker Kentfield kicked two majors, while the defensive set up prevented any scores from the Bulldogs.

It meant the Lions were ahead by 32 points at quarter time.

Subiaco piled on the pain in the second term, refusing to take their foot off the gas.

Hansen Jr kicked his second goal, before a burst from Richard Farmer and a finish from outside 50 led to a major.

The Lions were clean, slick, and overall outworked the Bulldogs, on the way to an 80-point lead at half time.

It continued on in the third term, with Subiaco kicking five goals.

Among them, Hansen Jr kicked his fifth, but the pressure needed to be kept up to keep up their momentum.

The lone South Fremantle goal for the term was kicked by Isiah Hayden, but the margin was too far gone by that point.

Subiaco finished off the game with the same tempo, and will head to New Choice Homes Park for the Preliminary Final against Peel Thunder next week.
