Zac Clarke back with the Lions
Zac Clarke has re-joined the Lions looking to continue his success from the 2018 season. With 20 undefeated games to his name with Subiaco, Clarke will fill the void as one of the most dominant rucks in recent WAFL history.
Doubling as the ruck coach to see a generation of change for the likes of Oskar Matthews, Kody Eaton, Jake South and company. Clarke will bring a plethora of experience with 110 games at AFL level for Fremantle and Essendon and 84 WAFL Games.
Since finishing with Essendon in 2019, Clarke has spent time playing for Doncaster East in the Eastern Football Netball League. Recently making the move back to Western Australia, the decision to join Subiaco came naturally.
General Manager Football Operations, Kristian Dicton said, “Zac is a proud part of our history and his addition in 2023 will be felt on and off the field. To have a ruckman of his calibre will assist our midfielders and our development ruckmen greatly. We are thrilled to have him on board”.
With the addition of Kyron Hayden, Taj Schofield and other key athletes earlier this off-season, Subiaco is looking to shoot back up the ladder in 2023. A goal that will be greatly assisted by Clarke.
In addition, the homecoming element of Clarke’s return is another rendition of Subiaco’s message, Where You Belong!
Clarke will join the playing group on December 1st for the start of the pre-season.
