The Lions have completed an all-round performance over Perth, winning by 79 points at Leederville Oval on Saturday July 22.

Subiaco set themselves up for victory early, kicking six unanswered goals to start the match.

The Lions built on their early dominance throughout the game, winning 18.14 (122) to 6.7 (43).

Taj Schofield kicked four goals and gathered 22 disposals to be one of the side’s best on the day.

Meanwhile, skipper Leigh Kitchin provided plenty of supply to the forwards, with 11 inside 50s from his 27 touches.

It was a circuit breaker for Subiaco, who broke a three-game losing streak to move to fourth on the WAFL ladder.

It took just 56 seconds for the Lions to get on the scoreboard, with Jordan Faraone kicking the first of the match.

He combined with Schofield for the first four goals of the match, before Rylie Morgan and Ben Sokol made it a six-goal to nothing lead.

The Demons were good enough to respond, kicking two late goals for the term, but the margin was already out to 38 points.

Although Subiaco continued to dominate in the second quarter, minor scores kept Perth in the game.

The Demons were able to get on the board early, before a barrage of entries from the Lions couldn’t be stopped.

Subiaco kicked five goals within 10 minutes, to lead by 66 at the half.

With the 2023 WAFL competition so close, a big score would go a long way to helping the Lions strive for success in September.

They continued to press, with Sokol kicking two of the side’s four goals of the quarter.

Meanwhile, the defence stood up, keeping Perth to just two behinds in the third term.

With the four points all but wrapped up, the Lions cruised through the remainder of the match, and secured the win.
