WAFL: Semi Final Match Preview vs Claremont

The equation for the Lions is simple going forward in 2023: win to stay alive, or lose and it’s season over.
Subiaco will host Claremont in a do or die clash at Leederville Oval on Sunday September 10, in a do or die clash.
The two sides have been involved in plenty of September action in recent times, so both teams will know what it takes to win in these types of games.
FORM
Subiaco played a good brand of football in their Qualifying Final loss to Peel, but ultimately a patch through the third term let them down.
However, the side will take plenty of positives from the match, which will hold them in good stead for the clash.
There are no easy games in the finals, and Claremont will be raring to go.
The side was able to take down East Perth last week, putting to bed their form issues towards the end of the home and away season.
It’s set to be a tight contest, and it will be one not to be missed.
LAST TIME THEY MET
At Revo Fitness Stadium in Round 12, Claremont took the four points against the Lions.
The Tigers got ahead, but Subiaco came surging in the final term.
However, Claremont were good enough to hold on for the seven-point win.
Ben Golding was important during the clash, with an effective 17 disposals and two goals.
ONE TO WATCH
The battle could be one or lost out of the midfield, and it starts with arguably the competition’s best two ruckmen.
Zac Clarke will need to be at his best, when he comes up against Claremont’s Oli Eastland.
Both players were named in the WAFL Team of the Year, and the battle in the middle of the ground will make for great viewing come Sunday.
