Preliminary Final Match Preview vs West Perth
Subiaco’s chances of back-to-back Premierships in the reserves remains alive, when they travel to Lane Group Stadium on Sunday September 17 to take on West Perth.
The side is one win away from a second-consecutive Grand Final berth.
However, it won’t come easy, with the Lions set to take on an experienced Falcons outfit.
FORM
The Lions came back from a Qualifying Final loss to Swan Districts, taking the win against East Fremantle in the Semi Finals.
Subiaco kept in control for the majority of the match, which will give the side confidence heading into this weekend.
Meanwhile, West Perth will be keen to make up for their loss last weekend, to secure a spot in the Grand Final.
After having the week off after finishing first, the side fell to Swan Districts, setting up the clash with Subiaco.
LAST TIME THEY MET
A poor start from the Lions allowed West Perth to take the four points back in round 10 this season.
Subiaco were kept to just one point to half time, while the Falcons kicked ahead.
The Lions managed to keep West Perth scoreless in the final term, but the damage had been done, resulting in a 13-point loss.
The match marked the return of midfielder Lachlan Vanirsen, who showed no signs of rust with 27 disposals, and a whopping 18 tackles.
ONE TO WATCH
The Lions will need to be lively up forward to secure the win.
One who has the potential to have an impact is Jordan Faraone.
The 23-year-old doesn’t need to have many touches to have an influence, and has hit the scoreboard regularly in both League and Reserves this season.
