The Women’s team gave East Perth a royal hiding on Saturday afternoon, earning a second straight victory for the Lions.

A real group effort; Subiaco’s 10 goals were kicked by 8 different players. Kate Pocsidio walked away with 3 herself, while Taya Strickland’s goal sent the ball far enough to scare traffic on Vincent Street.

Tess Lyons dominated the ruck contest, earning 27 hitouts and playing a vital part of Subiaco’s offensive powers on the day with 17 disposals, 7 inside 50s and even her own goal.

Layla Quinn-Schofield was also standout, with 15 disposals (12 of which were kicks) and a splendid snap goal midway through the first term.

Subiaco exploded from the get-go, kicking 5 goals in the first quarter and not only keeping East Perth scoreless, but never letting the footy enter their half of the ground.

The second and third quarters were more evenly matched, with the second term being entirely goalless for both teams.

East Perth managed to score their first and only goal at the start of the fourth term before Subiaco finished strong to claim a 60-point win in the Leederville Showdown.

The Rogers saw similar success, beating East Perth by 31 points.

The Subiaco Women go on the road this Saturday to Lane Group Stadium to take on Peel Thunder, while the Rogers verse Perth at Mineral Resources Park on Sunday.
