Breaking News:

Twenty five days ago Luker Kentfield was playing reserves for Subiaco. Now the 19 year-old is a Melbourne Demon, courtesy of the AFL mid-season rookie draft.

12 senior games with the Lions, the tall forward /ruck was considered a big chance of getting drafted and it was the Demons who selected the teenager with their first pick on Wednesday night at number 11.

AFL Talent guru, Michael Ablett, who doubles as Subiaco’s League team runner, was bullish about Kentfield’s draft chance.

“Luker was close at the end of last year. (2023). He is super competitive and goes looking for the footy,” Ablett said on SEN WA breakfast radio.

Subiaco coach Beau Wardman has been happy with Kentfield’s continued progress, since coming through the Lions program.

Kentfield joins his former Lion’s teammate Koltyn Tholstrup at the Demons, which is sure to put a smile on his face after he was taken in the national draft last year.
