Beau Wardman’s Contract Extension
A huge show of support for Beau Wardman, with the Subiaco League coach agreeing to a new two-year deal, keeping him in the role until the end of season 2026.
“It is exciting to be given such a show of support from the club for the work we (coaching group) have started with these young guys and the transitioning of the playing group,” Wardman said.
‘It gives the players and coaches surety that we are all heading in the right direction. I suppose it gives me some freedom to continue what we started and stay focussed on where we are heading,” Wardman added.
Subiaco president Russell Smith full of praise for Wardman.
“Beau contributes so much to the club, above and beyond the coaching role. The support and structures he’s implementing to benefit our players on and off the field are exceptional,” said Smith.
Club chief executive Peter Capes was also excited about the two-year deal.
“Beau’s ability and drive continues to make a massive impact on all of our football programs,” said Capes. “he is the right person to be our head coach and support our young players in their football journey.”’
Wardman boasts an impressive 68.7% winning record in his six years to date as League coach. This included premiership winning years of 2019 and 2021, a preliminary final effort last season.
“I am so happy the entire club (Subiaco) is tracking in a positive space at all levels, including our women’s program and our development groups,” Wardman said.
The news of Wardman’s contract extension comes after the leagues team’s impressive victory over West Coast.
‘The result will give the boys great confidence around the process working and their ability to stay connected over the last month has been strong and can now build on this,’ Wardman said.
The Lions next game is against East Fremantle Oval on Sunday June 16 and 2.30pm at Revo Fitness Stadium (Claremont Oval).
