Kalgoorlie Kids Kicking Goals
After winning the Colt's Taylor Medal in 2022, Goldfield's player Rory Murison made his awaited League Debut vs Swan Districts last week and was made to feel at home being joined by three other Goldfields origin players (pictured) in the side with Ryan Borchet (85 games), Malakai Champion (2 games) and Judd Kelman (7 games) all having an impact.
The Kalgoorlie region continues to be a production line of up and coming talent with other players Jack Mayo (missed with injury) and Tyrell Dewar, Robbie Hansen Jnr both in the AFL system having recently played at the club.
Murison had a productive first League game with 11 disposals, 3 tackles and 2 inside 50's showing signs that he belonged at the level. The three other Kalgoorlie players all hit the scoreboard with Kelman kicking the opening goal of the game and his first WAFL goal, Champion taking his tally to an impressive 5 goals from 2 games and Borchet kicking 4 taking him to 16 goals in 5 weeks since returning to the forward line.
The players will be hoping for a strong few weeks to finish the season off with winable games versus Perth, West Perth and Claremont.
