Liam Hickmott Claims 2018 Taylor Medal

Subiaco Colts midfielder Liam Hickmott has written himself into the club record books by winning the 2018 Taylor Medal, his second consecutive win.

 

Hickmott is only the fourth player to win two Colts Fairest & Best Awards in the club’s proud history and is the first to do so, since Craig Hoskins earlier this decade.

A history making season climaxed on Sunday evening as at the historic first Grand Final at Optus Stadium, Subiaco made team history by claiming three premierships, league, reserves and colts.

 

It was the perfect ending to the perfect season, as Subiaco’s league team completed a 20-0 season winning the 2018 Grand Final by 81 points.

Subiaco Colts Claim Historic Third Premiership

Subiaco’s Colts have won just their third WAFL Colts Premiership in history holding on for a tense two point win over Swan Districts in an absorbing Grand Final at Optus Stadium.

 

The win helped deliver Subiaco their first Colts premiership in nearly 30 years, with the only other two premiership wins coming in 1989 and 1974.

Subiaco Reserves Go Back To Back with 2018 Premiership Win

Subiaco’s Reserves have won back to back premierships for the first time since 2003 after outlasting East Perth by 18 points in a highly competitive 2018 WAFL Reserves Grand Final played at Optus Stadium.

 

For the second year in a row Subiaco went into a Reserves Grand Final as an underdog with their depth tested by virtue of having two senior teams in Grand Finals.
