After playing big parts in Subiaco’s 2018 Colts Premiership success, WAFL award winners Tristan Hobley and Jack Mayo are both in contention to be AFL listed in the National Draft.
Mayo took out the WAFL Colts Leading Goalkicker after a consistent season inside 50 for the Lions, while Hobley saw his outstanding second half run of form culminate in winning the Mel Whinnen Medal as the best player in the 2018 WAFL Colts Grand Final.

In the lead up to the 2018 WAFL Grand Final, while the battle was set to take place on Optus Stadium, for one of Subiaco's directors, Bret Hutchinson, a far more significant battle was underway off the field.
Baxter Hutchinson, son of Bret, on September 20, just three days before Subiaco’s Grand Final decider, underwent surgery to remove two medulloblastoma tumours that had been discovered in Baxter.
