In 2018 Subiaco will be profiling some of your favourite and some of the up and coming Lions players in a special series called, “Getting to Know the Lions”.
Today's profile is on another one of the budding stars of the Subiaco Lions, McKenzie Lawrence. A member of the 2017 Reserves Premiership side, McKenzie is entering his sixth season with the club, having spent three years with the colts and the past two in the senior program. McKenzie has become a popular player among Lions faithful with his hard approach at the game and contest.

The Subiaco Football Club would like to offer their sympathies and acknwoledge the passing of Peter Warden earlier this month.
Peter had a long association with the Subiaco Football Club, playing a key club role as the Reserves Interchange Steward from 2002 until 2014.
Peter was also a valued member of GOLDS, and was the Tresurer of GOLDS from 2010 to 2014.

From debuting as a spiky haired youngster over a decade ago, Cockie has become a premiership player with the Lions, experienced footy at it's highest level in the AFL and has contined to play a style of football that has made him a club favourite with all of Subiaco's most diehard fans.

Subiaco’s 2018 season is set to ramp up in preparation, with pre-season fixtures announced by the WAFL today.
Subiaco are set to take on two of its most fierce rivals in West Perth and Peel in a pre-season rematch of last year’s Grand Final with these two matches slated for March 10th and March 17th.
Pre-season will conclude a week out from the season proper for Subiaco, on Friday March 23rd when Subiaco host East Fremantle underlights at Leederville Oval.

The Subiaco Football Club is pleased to announce that they have tickets available for general sale for the JLT Community Series match between West Coast and Port Adelaide on Sunday February 25th.
Access to the Reserved Grandstand Seating is only available by purchasing your $30 ticket through the Subiaco and East Perth clubs directly. Your $30 ticket includes match entry, undercover seating in the main Grandstand at Leederville Oval, access to a private bar in a fully licensed area of the ground and guaranteed great views of all the action from Leederville Oval in what promises to be a blockbuster pre-season clash.

Popular Subiaco clubman Wayde Twomey has officially called time on a decorated playing career after 174 WAFL games, the past 76 games played with Subiaco after playing 98 games with Swan Districts.
After joining Subiaco ahead of the 2014 season, Twomey would go on to win premierships with the Lions in his first two seasons, playing key roles in both the 2014 and 2015 Grand Final victories.
This added to his 2010 premiership with Swan Districts making him one of the very select few triple premiership players in the WAFL competition.

Today's profile is on Bailey Matera, a recruit from 2017 who helped make an immediate impact on and off the field at the Lions. After making his Lions WAFL league debut in round 1, Matera made an impact early in the year before injury forced him to extended periods on the sidelines. Matera returned heading into finals and was a key player as Subiaco's Reserves swept to the 2017 Premiership. Find out a bit more about Bailey.
