Board of Directors

Russell Smith President
Russell Smith, or Rusty as he is more commonly known, started his journey at the Subiaco Football Club in 2003 as a colts statistician. Over the years he has held various roles and progressed within the club, including coaching development squads, runner, marketing, leading the talent development program, and serving as a board member.

Beyond the football field, Rusty is a seasoned professional. He spent the better part of a decade working and living abroad, predominantly in Boston and Singapore, which have equipped him with invaluable insights in global business, namely marketing and digital transformation. This international experience, combined with a strong educational foundation – a Bachelor of Sports Science from Edith Cowan University, an MBA from UWA, and executive education from Harvard Business School – positions him uniquely to lead. His professional endeavours have seen him work with more than 200 businesses across 30 countries, and has instilled in him a diverse and inclusive vision. He now runs an innovative marketing agency called Spark Growth.

Russell’s dedication extends beyond his professional life. His family, with his wife, Lucy, and their children, Louis, Sadie, and Jude, is central to his life, reflecting his values of community and inclusivity. These personal values are a testament to the ethos he advocates for at Subiaco Football Club.
Luka Zivkovic Treasurer / Director of Finance
Luka Zivkovic is a Chartered Accountant with over a decade of experience across site-based and corporate commercial and finance roles within the resources sector. He holds a Bachelor of Accounting, Management and Human Resource Management from Murdoch University and is a member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and the Australian Corporate Treasury Association. Luka is currently completing a Graduate Diploma of Applied Corporate Governance and Risk Management with the Governance Institute of Australia. Throughout his career, Luka has served as a Board member, Treasurer, and committee member for several not-for-profit associations and member organisations. His commitment to continuous improvement and community betterment has been recognised through consecutive finalist nominations in the Accountants Daily Awards and he was feature in Acuity magazine’s “Profession of the Future: 20 Young CAs Making a Difference.” Outside of work and volunteering commitments, Luka enjoys exploring Western Australia in his four-wheel drive, discovering remote camping and fishing locations.
Nikki Bower Director of Partnerships
Nikki joined Subiaco Football Club in 2024 as a Director, focusing on the partnerships and commercial portfolio. However, her connection to football extends beyond this current role having spent many years of both her professional and personal life immersed in the game.

With over 20 years of strategic leadership experience in communications, corporate and community partnerships, stakeholder and employee engagement, and event management, Nikki has a diverse professional background. Her career spans non-profits, a notable tenure at the WA Football Commission, FMCG, and currently the corporate sector, equipping her with a wealth of transferable knowledge and a genuine passion for the game. As a strong advocate for the power of sport—particularly football—as a unifying force and connector of people and communities, she is committed to helping the Club grow and thrive in the years ahead. Nikki also serves on the WAFC Women in Football Advisory Committee and is an active member of her local junior football club committee.

Not surprisingly, sport plays a big part of her non work life spending countless hours with her husband Chris watching and supporting their two children in their sporting pursuits whilst also managing to get in a run herself, albeit slower these days, on the netball court.
Scott Wright Director of Marketing & Events
Scott is a lifelong Subiaco Football Club supporter, and following in the footsteps of his father, former Director and Club Life Member Peter Wright, seemed the obvious thing to do. With this rich family history, attachment, and deep passion for the Club, Scott came to the board with a commitment to ensure Subaico maintains its position as the league’s benchmark, both on and off the field.

With a well-established and successful career in communications and marketing spanning over 30 years, Scott is committed to enhancing the Club’s profile and fostering deeper connections between the Club, its community, its sponsors, and its members. His strategic mindset, sharpened by his current MBA studies, will be instrumental in driving innovation and growth at Subiaco.

Scott sees real opportunities and value in working collaboratively with the Club’s dynamic operations team to expand membership and share the inspiring stories that make Subaico such a special place to be a part of.
Jenna Rennick Director of Strategy
Having grown up in country Western Australia, Jenna is passionate about building communities and how footy can be enabler for that. Jenna is a relative newcomer to the Subiaco Football Club having joined the board in 2024 and supports the Strategy & Operations portfolio.
