The Club is delighted to announce that they have extended their partnership with AE Hoskins for another two years on the eve of the WAFL season.
The partnership will see investment continue to be made in the Talent Pathway helping the Club’s Futures, Colts, and Rogers Cup programs.
Managing Director of AE Hoskins, Michael Hoskins and wife Carolyn are regulars at Club games and events and ‘Hosko’ has always been passionate about supporting the Club’s up and coming players. “Our business has over 90 tradies, so we are all about giving young people opportunity – we have loved our involvement with the Colts and watching the youngsters develop into League and even AFL players” he said. “We also get the odd Subi player on board as an apprentice which has worked well.”
Hosko is all too familiar with the Club and as well as playing a world record number of colts games and a handful of reserves for the club in the 1980’s, has done a number of building jobs in recent years updating the Club’s facility. Currently AE Hoskins is constructing a hospitality space alongside the Club’s player race which is soon to be complete.
Mick’s playing career created a strong passion for the Lions, and he has had his past this onto his two boys Jason and Craig – who both played for the Club in recent years.
Jason showed great promise and captained the colts but had his career at Subiaco was cut short with shoulder injury.
Craig had had an accomplished career at the Lions finishing with 65 League Games, two Taylor Medals (Colts BNF) and a League (2025) and Reserves Premiership.
“Both sons are now in leadership positions at AE Hoskins and it’s great that we can continue to be a family run company going into a fourth generation” Mick said.
