8 Lions to Play for WA this Saturday

Subiaco is delighted to announce that they will have a league best eight representatives in the 2018 WAFL State Game when West Australia take on South Australia this Saturday at Adelaide Oval.

 

Kyal Horsley, Lachlan Delahunty, Aaron Heal, Angus Litherland, Leigh Kitchin, Chris Phelan, Brad Stevenson and Rhys Waters were all named in the final 23 man squad announced by the WAFL today.

Subiaco were forced to fight hard, but eventually made it five wins from five games to start the season with a 22 point win over rival West Perth on Saturday.

Colts & Reserves Fall in Round 6

It was a tough start to the day in Round 6 of the 2018 WAFL season for Subiaco as both the colts and reserves sides dropped games to West Perth.

 

The loss by the reserves was particularly disappointing given that the Lions led most of the day, only to be overrun late by a charging West Perth side.

Subiaco win emotional encounter over West Perth

Subiaco made it five straight wins to start 2018 as they overcame an emotional occasion, a slow start and a plucky West Perth to record a hard fought 22 point win.

 

Subiaco trailed by 10 points at quarter time and took until just before half time to hit the lead, but maintained a slight advantage throughout the second half eventually pulling away to win.

11 Subiaco Players in WA State Talent Squads

The Subiaco Football Club is delighted to confirm that 11 players from the Subiaco Colts and 16’s teams have been selected in the State 18’s and State 16’s squads.

 

Subiaco has four representatives in the first intake announcement for the State 18’s while they have seven representatives for the State 16’s.
