The Subiaco Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Kellie Properjohn as its new Chief Executive Officer, following a comprehensive and competitive recruitment process.

Kellie brings almost four decades of experience across both government and private sectors, including senior leadership roles with Deloitte, the finance industry, WA Police, and the

Department of Education. She also has deep experience in football leadership, having been an integral member of Subiaco’s support team for the past nine years, contributing during a period that saw eight men’s premierships across all three grades. With a proven track record in strategic leadership, governance, community engagement, and high-performance environments, she is well-positioned to lead the Club into its next era.

Subiaco Football Club President Russell Smith welcomed the appointment:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kellie to the Lions. Her leadership experience, commercial acumen and alignment with Subiaco’s values made her an outstanding choice. This is a significant step forward as we continue to grow and strengthen every aspect of our Club.”

“It’s an honour to take on this role at one of WA’s most respected football clubs,” said Ms Properjohn. “I have greatly valued my time working in the AFL system, both at Subiaco Football Club over the past nine years and during my five years spent with the Fremantle Dockers as the Leadership and Culture consultant. These experiences have given me a deep understanding of what it takes to make a club successful. I look forward to applying my business and football knowledge to collaborate with coaches, players, sponsors and our members, and to continue making our club somewhere you aspire to belong.

”The Club also acknowledges and sincerely thanks outgoing CEO Peter Capes, who announced earlier this year he would be stepping down after more than 13 years of exceptional service.

“Peter has been instrumental in shaping Subiaco into the successful and respected Club it is today,” said Mr Smith. “Under his leadership, we achieved sustained success on the field and long-term stability off the field. We’re deeply grateful for his commitment and contribution.”

Ms Properjohn will officially commence next month, working closely with the Board, staff, players, and wider Club community to ensure a smooth transition. Her appointment comes at a pivotal time for the Club, with the search also underway for a new Senior Men’s Coach following the recent resignation of Beau Wardman. The Club is committed to appointing the right candidate to lead the playing group and build success in the next chapter of Subiaco’s football journey.
