Beau Wardman Steps Down as Senior Coach at SFC

Author: Admin Subiaco FC

After considerable reflection and ongoing conversations with the Club’s leadership, Beau Wardman has made the difficult decision to step down from his role as men’s Senior Coach of the Subiaco Football Club, effective immediately.

Best described as the “ultimate clubman”, Beau’s commitment to the Subiaco Football Club over the past nine years has been unwavering. From the moment he joined, he has always put the Club first, and this decision is no different. Beau has chosen to step aside with the Club’s best interests at heart, embodying the values of selflessness and integrity that make him the ultimate clubman.

In reaching this decision, Beau expressed his belief that stepping away now will give the Club the best possible chance to plan confidently for the future. Balancing the demands of coaching at the highest level with the responsibilities of full-time employment has required great personal sacrifice, and Beau now feels it is time to reassess his priorities with the support of his family and the Club.

“I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to coach at this club, and proud of the achievements while I have been at Subiaco. I am especially proud over the journey, that I have been able to prove to the people who have supported and believed in me that they were right,” said Beau.

During his tenure, Beau has built a football program admired across the country. After taking on the role of Senior Coach in 2019, he led the Club to two grand final appearances, securing premierships in 2019 and 2021. His earlier work with the Colts program, culminating in a premiership in 2018, laid the foundation for his continued success and influence at senior level.

“We are incredibly grateful for Beau’s dedication, professionalism, and passion, and we are committed to supporting him through his next phase. His contribution to the Subiaco Football Club will be felt for many years to come, and we look forward to recognising his impact in a more formal way in the near future,” said Subiaco Football Club President Russell Smith.
