Peter Capes to call time as Subiaco Football Club CEO at end of season
After 15 years at the helm of the Subiaco Football Club, Peter Capes has shared that 2025 will be his final season as CEO.
Peter joined the Club in 2010 at a time when we were facing real challenges – both on and off the field. His steady leadership, commitment to the people of Subiaco, and belief in what the Club could become have helped shape who we are today.
Across his time as CEO, the Club has experienced extraordinary success – five WAFL premierships and eight Grand Final appearances. Just as important, Peter has championed a more united Subiaco, playing a key role in the reintegration of the women’s program and helping create the inclusive, one-club environment we’re so proud of today.
Peter will continue in his role for the remainder of the season before transitioning at the end of the season.
Reflecting on Peter’s time at the Club, Subiaco President Russell Smith shared:
“Peter has given so much to Subiaco over the past 15 years – not just in results, but in care and belief. He arrived at a time when we needed strong leadership, and he delivered in every way. His legacy is in the flags and the undeniable success. We’re incredibly grateful for everything he’s done and look forward to celebrating that properly as the season continues.”
In Peter’s words, “It’s been a privilege to be part of this Club. When I started in 2010, things weren’t easy, but I always believed in the people and the potential here. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together and incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and moments along the way.”
More information about the transition and recruitment process will be shared with members in due course. In the meantime, day-to-day operations continue as normal, with Club priorities firmly on track as we work towards a strong finish to the season.
