Over the WA Day long weekend, the Subiaco Football Club hosted the 2025 Zone Carnival, featuring Year 9 and 10 boys and girls from the Goldfields Football League (GFL) and the Esperance District Football Association (EDFA).

The carnival provided a valuable platform for the most talented players in the Subiaco Regional Zone to showcase their skills and vie for selection in the upcoming Perth Regional Carnivals, where they will compete against other WAFL regional teams.

Day 1 Highlights
Hosted by the Esperance Football Club and blessed with beautiful weather, Day 1 offered a full schedule of competitive matches. Subiaco FC staff in attendance included Talent Manager Stu Berryman, Women’s Coordinator Ben Haywood, and Colts Coach John Mansbridge.

Final Thoughts
Subiaco FC Talent Manager Stuart Berryman praised the event and the players:

“The talent across this cohort is very strong and made for a very high standard of football. There have been several impressive players coming out of Goldfields and Esperance in recent years, and this group looks set to continue that trend.”

Subiaco FC extends its gratitude to all who made the carnival a success — the volunteers from EDFA and GFL, Eshe Christie from WA Football, parents, coaches, and support staff. A special thanks to Kris Starcevich for the vital groundwork in helping bring the carnival to life.
