Presidents Update – Building Momentum for 2026

Author: Admin Subiaco FC

As the dust settles on the 2025 season, we are already moving full steam ahead, laying the foundations for an exciting new chapter built on growth, leadership, and opportunity.

In just a few short months, we’ve made enormous progress across every part of the club. From leadership appointments, to player signings, coaching additions, and facility investment, the energy and optimism around Subiaco has never been stronger.

Strength in Leadership
At the centre of this renewal is the appointment of Kellie Properjohn as Chief Executive Officer. With nearly a decade at Subiaco and invaluable AFL experience, Kellie brings deep football knowledge and a clear vision to strengthen our club on and off the field.

Jarrad Schofield returns as Senior Coach, a premiership Lion whose high-performance standards and passion for culture and development are already shaping our 2026 campaign.

They’re joined by Tim Marley as Football Operations Manager, whose WAFL experience and leadership are aligning our football programs and pathways under one united vision.

Football Programs
Our men’s and women’s programs are building with purpose. The men’s side has re-signed a strong core group and added exciting new talent to bolster depth and balance. This is complemented by the return of Darren Rumble and Paul Vines to the coaching group, both bringing invaluable experience and leadership. Key signings, including Jack Petrucelle along with VFL players Nick Girolami and Will Bravo, further strengthen our talent and list depth.
The women’s program continues to grow under Senior Coach Baker Denneman and Rogers Cup Coach Stewart Horton, with key re-signings including Krstel Petrevski, Tess Lyons, Lisa Steane, Paige Sheppard, and Hali Epis, reinforcing our strength and stability heading into 2026.

Investing in Our Future
Beyond the field, we’re continuing to invest in our facilities to ensure Subiaco remains a destination club for players, coaches, and staff. Des Penman Reserve continues to evolve as the home for our women’s and talent programs; a vital step in creating an environment where the next generation of Lions can thrive.

The club is working closely with the City of Stirling to further enhance the venue’s capacity, infrastructure, and identity as part of our long-term vision.

A Club Moving Forward
Taken together, these developments represent more than just change, they reflect the club’s commitment to renewal, growth, and excellence. Subiaco is not standing still. We’re investing in people, in programs, and in our future.

As we look ahead to 2026, the message is simple: momentum is building. With new leadership in place, a refreshed football program, and continued focus on culture and community, we are poised for an exciting year ahead.

The pride in the maroon and gold remains as strong as ever, and the work happening behind the scenes ensures that the best is yet to come.

Thank you for your support.
