There was a strong influence from Subiaco in the State Game between the WAFL and SANFL last week at the Adelaide Oval. Despite a 13-point loss to the Croweaters, Stefan Giro and Ben Sokol performed admirably for WA, and were amongst the best players on the ground.

The 2023 season to date has been about recapturing what Subiaco Football means, according to the head coach. Coming off a season to forget in 2022, the Lions have started to get back to their winning ways, following a 4-2 start to this year.

It was heartbreak for the WAFLW side, who fell in a one-point thriller against Swan Districts at Leederville Oval on Saturday May 20. After a slow start, the Lions threatened to take control in the second half.
