For Subiaco’s reserves side, it’s a simple mindset.
Their fourth-placed finish means the side needs to keep winning to stay alive in season 2022, with the first hurdle a clash with Swan Districts at Fremantle Community Bank Oval on Sunday September 11.
It will be a tough match, with two strong sides whose senior teams are both out of finals, meaning both will be hungry for success.

Subiaco may have had a down year, but it was one to remember for Ben Sokol, who claimed the 2022 Bernie Naylor Medal with 41 goals to his name.
It’s the second time he’s been the leading goal scorer across a season, after he first won it in 2019.
Sokol told Subiacofc.com.au it was a reflection of more than just his game.

RESERVES
For the reserves, it’s do or die from here on in, following their narrow 18-point loss to West Perth over the weekend.
After a less than ideal start from the Lions, they worked their way back into the game, reducing the 21-point margin to be all square at three quarter time.

The Falcons managed to run away with the game despite only a three-point deficit at the major break.

With Subiaco out of the finals hunt, but with winning form on their side, round 20 could prove to be a danger game for the top of the ladder Falcons.
